SCHOOL OF
MUSIC

Washington State University’s School of Music prioritizes student and faculty performances alongside guest artists. I designed posters for both the university and guest performances and print pieces like recruitment infographics.
I was made aware of this opportunity because I had been a member of Washington State University’s Symphonic Orchestra for two semesters. Starting the job meant a fuller schedule, so I bowed out of the orchestra—but the faculty continued to recognize me.

Designing the posters to fit each musician’s personality with their provided assets was an interesting challenge. With 2 to 3 performances occurring per week, I prioritized different visual elements to accentuate each performer and their repertoire.
In addition to twice-a-week poster designs, I also repurposed the graphics to fit social media dimensions. These were posted on the Washington State University’s School of Music Instagram as well as a weekly email featuring all the events for the month.
Music is the auditory relationship a performer has with a song through their instrument. Practicing translating the auditory experience to a visual one that represented each and every special concert I bring to all projects.
